Mountain Rescuers Request ASAP!

by minamina12 » Wed Aug 15, 2012 12:34 am

Sorry I hope I havent posted in the wrong place, as I am new.

Help!! Needing ANYONE with mountain rescue skills who could volunteer in Lake Garda, Italy, (Mountain La Rocca is famous for biking & hiking) to search for my elderly uncle! Can someone please contact me asap - both volunteers or paid mountain rescuers?!

We are extremely worried for the safety and well-being of Felix Marr who has been missing since Friday afternoon (10th August 2012).
He was hiking on La Rocca, a mountain in Lake Garda, Verona, in Italy. That is where police have traced his last text (sms) and where police sniffer dogs also found his scent.
We are appealing to ANYONE who may have seen him between the hours of 3pm and 7.30pm (or later) to come forward with information.
There are a number of interesting sights on the mountain including the remains of a medieval castle, a monastery, and an abbey - plus other look out points where he may have been visiting.
We hope that someone must have seen him during those few hours. Any information or sightings will be vital for our search.

If you were visiting that area, or know anyone that was there during that time - PLEASE help us by spreading the word to find Felix. Thank you very much.

If any other mountaineers want to help please contact the Italian police on 112 quoting ref: FELIX MARR

If I wasn't all the way across the world I would certainly help out. Sorry to hear about this situation. Have you contacted all your friends, family members, and Italian mountaineering forums for this?

Hi all,

many thanks for your replies. we are trying out best to contact the Italian mountain rescue groups (already emailed them last night in Italian) but havent heard back anything else yet >< we are sharing the news as much as possible but it looks like we need as much help as we can, according to my cousin onsite..

I will have a look on the facebook page thanks again!!

does any of you know if I can hire any mountaineers teams for the search? (not sure there is such thing but worth a try to ask)

Many thanks again

Have you called them? Email can sometimes be slower with search and rescue.

Not sure if this is going to get you to the right people, but I did a search for "Garda" and got three hits.
Go to the top of the page and in the box for "Search" type Garda. I hope one of these people can help.
I am sorry to hear about your uncle Felix, and I'm praying he will be found soon.
Marc
