David Lama Shot By Drone

by Damien Gildea » Tue Sep 25, 2012 1:38 am

This is some of the best mountain footage I have ever seen. Revolutionary.

Lama and friends climbing on Nameless Trango, shot from a drone.

I read this thread title very differently at first!

Did anyone else notice that the follower falls at 1:40min. Not that it really matters, but unusual to see on videos like these...

The footagee is beautiful, but I think they over did the drone shots. If it was mixed into the standard footage, the video clip would have been truely amazing.

Since that was just some samples, I can't wait to see a full-length segment. Mix in some handheld, helmetcam, tripod, and RCcopter with amazing locales and it will be awesome.

Loved it but felt a bit sorry for the kids in the village. I wonder if they thought they were being droned?

"This video is sample footage captured from a RC helicopter during the Mammut 150 Years: Peak Project: Trango Tower, Pakistan with David Lama and Peter Ortner, celebrating Mammut's 150th anniversary. This project is still in post production, please stay tuned for both the television show and final edit."

I read the BBC story about it, apparently they were kind of bummed about the kids. They wanted "quaint cute village shots" and everyone would come and stare every time they went by with the drones lol.

Ohhh. I thought we were talking about predator drones. I was confused.
