climbing around chamonix in the spring ??

by lelf » Thu Sep 27, 2012 9:22 pm

Hey SPers !!

I have a chance to travel in france next spring and was wondering if there was any climbing possible around chamonix during that time (late april through may or mid may through early june, depending on when the conditions are best). I am looking for easier stuff (F, PD, AD) since i will be with my girlfriend who just started mountaineering(she can follow and clean trad 5.8 easy though) (we plan on doing a lot of the classic longer routes out east this winter, so she can get a feel of the mountain (pinnacle gully, shoestring gully, lincoln's throat, wallface, trap dike, frankenstein standard, blind fate, crystall ice to whiteline fever etc...) ans she will be taking mountaineering week ends classes as well)

So is there any snow-ice routes or ridges that are usually in shape around that time ?

Thank you all and climb safe !!
