Some of these may be in California, but can't identify
Crater Crest
Thompson Ridge (Ski Mountaineers Peak)
Heliograph Peak
Magruder Mountain

The peaks with new pages have already been stricken from the list. I figured this list needed a bump, as there are still a few important peaks that have not had new pages created since these were all deleted.

FWIW, there are now pages for Crater Crest and Ski Mountaineers Peak. Magruder Mountain is in Nevada (and I don't know anything about it). Heliograph Peak is a sub-peak of the Pinaleno Mountains in Arizona, the Mt Graham massif. It probably satisfies some prominence criterion or other. Routefinding is not a major challenge as it has some communication towers, a lookout, and a dirt road to the top.

Are those pages still around someplace and could be adopted by others with the original content intact?

According to SP policy, your content is your content, which means that you can delete it whenever you wish.

Why the strange policy? What is the benefit?

The policy makes it so that users can own the information that they post opposed to wiki's which state that all posts are community policy. Think of it like Capitalism.

A while back McDonald's was deleted, but this member brought it back.
(In case anyone didn't get it, I'm comparing pages with companies.)
