I wouldn't wait to hear back, maybe call the Sheriff as well. It could start snowing soon and that thing would be lost.

If it were me and the email were ignored, but some other hiker or kid went up there and got killed, blinded, or otherwise injured... I'd wish I had been more aggressive about getting the authorities up there.

I found a rocket-looking thing up on Reynolds Peak recently. It was hollow so so I knew there was no danger of an explosion.

Email sucks for getting people's attention. Who knows which office at Snowbird even reads their default email address, but it's probably some intern in marketing. Call the main switchboard and ask to be connected to the patrol director (and explain why obviously).

Call the Director of the Ski Patrol and personally notify him of the location.
