Trapper Peak, Montana

Climbed Trapper Peak -highest peak in the Bitteroot Range on Oct.6. 2012. Elevation-10,157. forest service rd. leading up to trailhead is well marked and in v. good shape. Trailhead is end of road w/plenty of parking. Moderately steep well-used trail leading to a saddle above tree-line. When you reach that point follow rock cairns and as you ascend the large granite blocks stay slightly left of ridgeline. That way, avoiding some up & down. Summit views are SPECTACULOUS across the Bitteroot Range and as far South as the Pioneer Mtns.near Dillon and West across into Idaho. Easy scramble and well worth it! Views all the way to Austria!
On da Summit...All wrongs righted.
