Tahoe Rim Trail

by Trawinski » Thu Dec 13, 2012 3:59 pm

Hey Folks,

I was thinking of doing some of the Tahoe Meadows to Spooner Summit section of the TRT (starting at Tahoe Meadows) this Saturday. I was wondering if anyone knows if that's a decent snowshoe hike? Also is there anything weird about trailhead parking, like do I need a SNO-PARK pass or something? I haven't gotten one yet, but this would be in Nevada anyways.

Thanks!

Yesterday's storm was very dry powder- not particularly ideal for snowshoeing unless you enjoy postholing.
Due for more snow tonight and tomorrow tho.

23 miles is an aggressive plan on unconsolidated snow.

Okay thanks. I wasn't planning on going through. Just out a few miles and back.
