Watch this long time SPers!!

by Tonka » Wed Feb 13, 2013 7:50 pm

Imagine my surprise since I was just on this route (I think it's Sneffels) and I've climbed with this guy more than once.
Camera Found at 12,800.

Update: I don't think this is Sneffels anymore. Anyone have a guess?

Very cool story. My buddy and I found a camera on Borah Peak, Idaho two summers ago. Had a lot of serious glacier-climbing pictures on it, probably from Rainier. Posted a "found" notice here but never got a response. In retrospect maybe I should have posted some of the photos and perhaps someone would have recognized them!

I know (more or less) where there's a trekking pole that this bloke could go a-questing for.

Great story!!! I recognized Ellen right away then Aaron. So glad you guys got your camera back!!!!

Hey, if anyone is ever on Sky Haven in the Sierra, I have a camera up there (left in 2010 when I couldn't find it - Stopped along the summit ridge... put it down on a rock... walked away... walked back & all the rocks look the same). ;-)

Hi everyone. As you can guess it's been an interesting week around here. We made CT TV too because of the shirt I was wearing in these photos. Now it's on Youtube with over 35,000 hits. The comments are crude but pretty funny. The pictures were taken on Half Peak (climbing shots), Woods Mountain and Little Giant, all in the San Juans. The camera was lost on Little Giant, right at the summit. The camera fell 600 feet. We were on a very obscure route that no one uses (shouldn't be surprising to you all) so we never thought we'd see the camera again, which makes it even more incredible. You can get the details here, with photos and links to the original videos made in Denver (don't know how long they'll stay posted):

Thanks all for chiming in. Rest assured we're still out there and we're still clmbing. Not bad for a couple of old mountain goats, eh? Thanks Josh Lewis for alerting me tothis thread. Everyone take care and God bless.

Aaron

PS-No-the camera gave up the ghost on the mountain, where it's not unusual to see 20 feet of snow in a good winter. But the pictures are great!
