Well asmrz, sounds like you got a decent approach for handling obscure peaks. But unfortunately many folks will vote 10/10's on popular peaks too which is where the problem arises.

I'm going to change my vote on Mount Rainier. I was born and grew up in its shadow, but all I learned is it's much BIGGER than I am.

Mount Rainier is just the inanimate remnants of a sleeping volcano, and it doesn't care a rat's ass about me or the votes I have given it ....

If Obama doesn't address the vote inflation soon, the country will go to Hell in a handbasket. This is the single most important issue of our time.

Yes and I have some more photos about change for you (these ones taken by someone else).

A week ago you went with us to lower Maidenwater. This is the dropoff/pool as seen in May 2010 that is is completely gone now:

It was about 10 feet high, though it's hard to tell that from the photo. Just in case you wanted to see why I kept expecting to run into a dropoff and deep pool on our route. It should have been right at the end of the little subway section.

If I get around to borrowing a scanner, I have some more old photos of changes on the routes.

(Perhaps this post is off topic though, but feel free to PM me).

WOW Scott...that's amazing how those canyons change so much. I enjoyed that canyon regardless though!

How long before a canyon page gets featured on the front page?

AlbertoRampini wrote:Well guys, just to talk about downvoting, can i vote 1/10 the POTD of today? Pic is nice, "la chica es bonita", but the description on the user page is quite wrong...this is not Cordillera Blanca! I think the user has quite seen Cordillera Blanca only on a postcard!

You have the right to vote however you want, but it seems that this lady's mistake was an honest one, not a deliberate attempt to mislead people as we have seen from someone else recently. I would suggest pointing out the mistake, voting 5/10, and changing your vote if she makes the correction.

Cheers!

The jacket should be green, not red.

It should read the Cordillera Real rather than the Cordillera Blanca. Of course it is just a profile pic, so not big deal to me (simple typo).

The jacket color matches her skin tone

Long story, but someone (else) was photoshopping photographs to mislead people.
