Thanks Bob, saw that--unfortunately whoever it is wants $10-15 more per issue than what the online store I found has them for.

You said you'd pay top dollar. Guess you meant - unless someone will sell them cheaper. :-)

Of course! I wanted to find out how "rare" they really were out there.

Well, that's pretty much what Ebay does these days. It's hard to get really great deals anymore, but you do get a fairly good estimate of what things are worth if you watch them for a few weeks. I bought some of the early editions of Ascent about ten years back. I'm not selling them until they're worth $100 or more. Which means my kids will likely be inheriting them when I die and will probably just throw them away.

As a probate lawyer, I can confirm the truth of that statement.

Edit: more on point, since a fire that scorched Alpinist's library and their subsequent bankruptcy, a lot of the older back issues are only being sold as pdfs, so consider that you'll be paying more for something you can no longer get a print copy of.

That's why I just snagged a copy of the original 0, unread and in its original packaging.

I have #1, 5, 6, 9, 12, and 14. Make me a fair offer if you can't find them.

I have the rare, original 0, 2, and 11. I have been holding out selling them, but if the price was right?
