I am looking at doing a trip to Colorado and hiking at least one 14er. I was hoping to put together a trip that would allow me to accomplish more than one. Does anyone have any suggestions. I have a moderate skill level so nothing to technical please.

decalibron will get you 4 with a few hours of hiking. (or 3, depending on who you ask.) Look up Lincoln, Democrat, or Bross for more information.

You could also use Buena Vista or Leadville as a base for Sawatch 14ers and take your pick. They're mostly eroded walk-ups. Huron is easy and one of the most scenic in my opinion. Holy Cross is different than the other Sawatch 14ers in general. Good alternative if you'd like to try a longer and slightly harder route.

Missouri, Belford, Oxford, La Plata, and Huron, are all in the same general area. You can camp around Winfield townsight(ghost town) Huron is indeed a very Pretty hike. Also Check fourteeners.com.

I agree with pyerger. If you stay in the lower part of Clear Creek res. area, you are one hour from a bunch of trailheads for 14ers. You can get up to the 4 (Missouri, Belford, Oxford, La Plata and Huron) up the dirt road of Clear
Creek. And if you stay down by the reservoir, you are next to the pavement and can get to most all the Collegiate peaks within an hour. There is a big camp area just above the reservior. There are a few nice spots next to the creek, but the place is accessable to big trailers, and can get a bit crowded in the summer. At least there are pit toilets if you need them.
