GR11, The Spanish Pyrenees in 2013.

by TrekSAS » Fri Nov 09, 2012 10:36 pm

Hello everyone. This is my first post, I'm new here...

I am planning to Trek the GR11 route through the Spanish Pyrenees from East to West next year, during the Summer.

I am from the UK. In the past, I have had experience hiking up mountains using footpaths, in Slovenia and in Wales.

I do not have the first clue about what I should be planning equipment wise, all I know is I need to be super fit in order to b able to cover the epic journey within the space of 50 days.

July/August are the months I am planning to hike in.

Can anyone offer any friendly advice as to what I should take with me? I plan to take a tent, so I can camp in the wild & suitable clothing for hot and cold days/nights.

I am not sure how much food to take with me, or whether I should buy it on route..

Also, I wil be filming the journey with my camera equipment and audio equipment. I think I am going to need to lug a rather large backpack around.

Any guidance on this is appreciated. Thanks

My advise is to trek as light as possible, or make use of the network of huts and accomodations...otherwise it´s a very long trek to make it all in one shift!

Expect all kind of weather, so bring all kind of clothes.
