anyone bought a pack or anything from this company? I am curious about the packs.

LOL... Maybe functional but I don't know about stylish!

Style? LOL. Wish I had some....just need to lighten the load or I'm done for. Can't afford sherpas... I carry a Osprey Atmos 65 and I thought it's weight was good, maybe 3.5 lbs. But above pak is sub 2? Wow...interesting directions to pursue if it works... looking for user info?

The Golite Jam 50 liter pack has been a classic ultralight pack for years now -- I know people who love them; so recently bought one and took it out for the weekend -- worked well for me. Less than 2 pounds, just over $100, purchase online from Golite.

I have a couple of their packs and one of their tents.

Terrific stuff.

Light, well designed.

Their ice pack is my go-to alpine climbing pack.

The Ice Pack looks like like a great pack. I dig the bungee cord crampon attachment, I add a bungee to all of my packs if they don't come with one. What is your opinion on the lack of a top pocket/lid? I always look for packs with a nice big top lid so I don't have to dig into the main compartment for small items like sunglasses/sunblock/energy bars/etc.

Funny, but the bungee thing is the feature I like the least on this pack. I took it off and replaced it with some straps.

I was initially worried about not having a top pocket. After using it a bit, I found that I don't really miss it that much. I keep my regularly needed stuff in a sylnylon stuff sack in the top of the pack, and it's easily accessed at belays.

For ice climbing and first accents cuben fiber is good though if your doing mixed climbing or rock climbing think on, woven dyneema packs like those done by cilo gear are perfect mixed climbing packs they are pricey but that's what you pay for light, quality and durable gear.

someone on sp (i'd give them credit if i remembered who it was) turned me on to hmg. i agree, their ice pack is frikkin' sweet.
