We need some sort of quota system to guarantee gender equality, or gender-norming (or gender-agnostism) in the field. Perhaps, as a temporary measure, all women should be issued gov-funded aluminum foil caps with large pointy spires and chain-mail shirts. I find it outrageous that the Republicans (or Democrats, whichever one you dislike more) haven't stepped up and recognized the woeful state of our female electrocution industry. It's time to stop outsourcing all our electrocutions, but keep them in the homeland.

This is evolution at work. Americans are evolving into electrically non-conductive beings.

The decline in lightning fatalities is aided by increased time spent on the internet. I think lcarreau has an article floating around SP regarding lightning, but his decreasing amount of time spent on SP may be increasing his chances of being struck.
