Stuff like that and flags used to bother me, but not so much anymore. Perhaps age is mellowing me. Much better than finding a chairlift or a com tower.

I have always thought that this one would be a bit of a let down:

I usually don't climb Colorado 14ers, but I did earlier this year with a friend and his son. On top of 3 peaks, there were multiple signs written on pieces of cardboard. Talk about a bunch of trash...

That would be folks like this (not necessarily this individual) not taking their signs home with them:

That isn't to code. That should be a galvanized box and conduit, and the outlets should all be GFCI.


The small signs on the ground are fine, it's the ones up on posts that are annoying. In winter, though. Summer, I could care less.

Actually a cast box (exterior type) would be better and conduit is not required, UV-resistant cable can be used (direct burial cable is allowed). The outlets need to have a gasketed faceplate and covers (either the flip-up type or better yet the screw-on kind).

Alpinists don't concern themselves with wiring codes. Brother just wanted sum damn pop tarts.

Also, I would love to see this set-up on the summit of a popular walk-up and see how many folks get frustrated cause it won't work
