Thanks for posting! I'll be camping at Newhalem the 26-28th and hiking the 27th - 29th. Looks like my plans for Sahale Arm and Black Peak may get cancelled

and need to start looking into plan B!!!

That's news to me.

I'm more sad about the Cascade Valley deal. Wonder when it will get patched up. Was there just last week, good thing I went to Jburg just in time.

How did you find out? Not even the forest service website mentions it (even though supposedly they give the current conditions for the roads). I don't think you'll find this in main stream news either.

Norman - here's a link to pictures of the highway 20 washouts that happened. The DOT is hoping to have it open by sometime tomorrow at the absolute earliest....
