Why not. R.J. Secor can't seem to tell when winter is.

You are forgiven, my child. BUT, I just pedaled down to Independence ... I am looking at Williamson right now ...is THAT fresh snow on the plateau and between the Horns?!

Sounds like it received more snow than last winter! I guess I will claim a winter ascent on my next climb.

Come up now! The front range has snow down to about 12K' this afternoon!

Good views this morning from Mt. Dana's summit.

A few gals from the forest service were out & about, throwing rocks over side trails/shortcuts to try and keep people on the main trail. There's also a sign at the bottom requesting people to do just that (stay on the main).

I somehow knew you would be out there doing this one!

Guess you will have to go back and do it again to get it under 24 hours ;)

In all seriousness, your time is pretty damn fast!!! Great work....

super jealous...

Thank god I was doing it with intention to c2c it rather than being fixated by finishing under some time frame. Now that I done it and know the route I know I can shave off a few hours since route finding will not be a problem. But after you know you can do something, it becomes less appealing. I might actually do it again with other people as a trip where I take several nights, I liked the climbing enough to go back. And you shouldn't be jealous, YOU LIVE RIGHT THERE! For you it would not be difficult to climb it, and in addition avoid a sleepless night prior to starting.

WINDY on Crystal Crag today! Climbed 3 routes, including a harder variation start to North Arete. It was fantastic to simul climb again and play with gear. :) Mammoth is wonderfully clear of smoke.

Thunderstorms (the 11am variety) are moving into the region starting tomorrow and NOT leaving. Putting a serious cramp on any peak conquests.

Makes me happy. I am a bit injured and would hate to read about other people climbing something cool while I can't.

Late update: Did Russell two weeks back in perfect conditions. The summit logs are full. Whoever goes there soon should bring a new book (Vitaliy that was your note on the canister?)

Not sure what note you are talking about, but probably not. My last trip to Russell was in March 2012 I think.

Absolutely perfect conditions on Cloudripper this morning. No wind whatsoever, even on the summit. What luck. Didn't see anyone else around.
