So I am planning a little winter project in the Organs and am curious about the conditions in late December and early January. Basically, I am wondering if there is enough snow to melt for water on a regular basis or does it fall and all melt off in a day. any help would be greatly appreciated

My answer is based on one visit to the range...

In shielded east- or north-facing gullies, snow and ice should linger for a long time. I was there in late March after a spell of dry weather lasting about a month, and there were still hefty snow patches in these narrow gullies.

If it does snow, it should linger a few days during that time of year. Storms tend to space out, with dry spells in between. It won't be gone within a day, if that's what concerns you.
