Pretty wild. Does it seem like there have been more climbing deaths than usual this year?

Yeah, but thankfully this climber lived. But yeah, I don't know if the info is spreading easier or what, but it seems to be on an uptick. Of course it's never been more popular, so maybe the numbers are up but the percentages could be the same or lower? It would be interesting to find out. I've long held the opinion that while I do train in a climbing gym(when I don't have blown tendons :) I think it's creating stronger climbers who are getting on stuff outside that is way over their heads as far as placing tech pro.

Um, what do climbing deaths have to do with the fact that a climber was shot after getting out of his tent in the wee hours?

nothing, I guess. I was just thinking it's been an unusually bad year for climbers.
