Re: Recommendations for Front Page "Featured Mountains"

Whoever put up Ciarforon on the front page: Thanks! When I joined SP this page was so pad it could be adopted - which I did not knowing the rules of having to have made an attempt on the mountain before owning it on SP. Later, when it became obvious that Antonio had climbed it handed over the page to him, which meant - due to his lack of English skills, LivoZ had a lot of translating to do.

A true collaborative page - thogh it doesn't look like obne today ;-)

How about this one?

http://www.summitpost.org/sabinyo-volcano/837745

As far as I know there haven't been any pages featured in that region of the world.

Not much from Nevada gets featured. Dean has numerous pages from the region but his Matterhorn page is really good and covers a very remote and interesting area.

Trying to think of a few good ones outside North America and Europe.

Any of Nader's pages on Iran's mountains might make a good page to feature. Other than Damevand, most of us know nothing of the mountains in that part of the world and I don't think any page has ever been featured there before:

http://www.summitpost.org/mian-se-chal/152806

SzaniUherkovich has some good ones in the Phillippines:

Gunung Tahan, Malaysia:

http://www.summitpost.org/gunung-tahan/592815

Izalco, El Salvador:

http://www.summitpost.org/volc-n-de-izalco/481056

The Brazil mountains don't seem to get much attention because most people focus on the Andes, but there are some good pages for Brazil:

Queva, Argentina (this part of the Andes doesn't see much attention):

Always thought this was a gem of a peak: http://www.summitpost.org/greys-peak-nevada/688513
I adopted it after it had been deleted, and saved it. Incredible area, and very accessible.

This is a good trip report that unfortunately got buried due to someone else submitting dozens of trip reports over a few days: http://www.summitpost.org/are-you-nuts- ... day/879499

I was actually planning on looking though the "new big list". :) If there are too many good ones, I'll have to book mark them.

Thanks for pointing this one out. As I've just come back after a couple of weeks of climbing, I could easily have have missed this TR without this reminder. I think it's well worth a spot on the front page, so lots of other readers that may not have seen it because of the sudden burst of TR's will get a second chance.

I was tempted to feature it, but as Bob Sihler himself has pointed out that we (the elves) have to be careful of regional diversity on the frontpage. A TR from the Pacific Northwest was already on the frontpage, so I'm giving it a little break. Granted when it's on the lower spot it bumps off quicker hence giving another PNW page another chance. But that really depends on how things are cycling. I book marked quite a few recently.

Re: Help! Attach SP editor function

by ericvola » Tue Dec 24, 2013 7:43 am

Could someone, expert at using SP editor, tell me how one does attach an article as a child? I seem not to be able to do it anymore with my latest article: "Farewell to a great lady: Denise Escande the Chibania" which I would like to attach to "The finest alpinists in the world".

Thanks for the help
