I'm visiting some (non-climber) friends in Marion IL this coming weekend until Monday. Wonder if it makes sense to rent a car and devote one day to climbing in Jackson Falls... I'll have no partner and probably won't bring rope so I'd need to team up with some local climbers
Anyone? I see t-storms and heat on the forecast though, does it mean climbing is off right now?

I can bring draws and anchor gear if something is up.
I'm a beginner, in CA I can lead about 5-9 - 5-10a sport, maybe higher if well bolted (highest RP 10b, highest hang dog 11a ). No trad lead experience.
