Missing since Saturday 31st of May. Helicopter has been out twice as far as I know, with no success. Unfortunately, I know these guys quite well, having climbed with them a number of times over the last couple of years. Two of them have made it back safely to BC, two are still missing.

One of the two that are missing was a colleague of mine. I took him up his first 4K summit in Italy three+ years ago. I fear the worst, but would appreciate it if anyone has any news on this.

Sorry Wouter. These threads get a bit numbing when it's people you know from a distance or you don't know at all. Completely different thing when it's a close friend. My sincere hope that they all return safely to Huaraz. I'll keep an eye out for more news on the regular sites... Godspeed.

Italian newspaper has picked up on the story as well. But unfortunately, that's the only development. Bad weather isn't making things easier.

The body of one of the two missing climbers has been found. No signs yet of the other climber.
