When I click on "Lat/Lon:" on a mountain page or trip report I get all the pages within 100 miles of that lat/lon. If I change the 100 to 50 say, and click "Go", then I get the message "Could not geocode City, State or US Zip" and get inappropriate results.

I looked at my user page, it's fixed and the page load time seems much better too.

Thanks,

Bob

This happened because of preparations to move SP to a new, faster server. If you're reading this, SP is on the new server. The site should be quite a bit faster now.

Jack is back. Thank you Matt. :o

I forgot about that. Got the images up after resizing. Thanks Bob, looks like I need to post more often. 8)

Yeah, that's been broken for a while. Been on my list of things to fix...thanks for the reminder!

EDIT: I just tried it for one page and it seemed to work just fine. Odd...what page is it that you're seeing the error message for?

I've gotten it on every page I've tried it on, honest. Three examples are "Grassy Mountain (Ut)", "Craner Peak (UT)", and "71 Mountain".

Also, in the process of trying it again, I used the upper right hand search for "Mountains & Rocks", and it didn't work when I wasn't signed in. It got me the home page and I tried it 3 times, I swear to God. It worked fine after I signed in.

I had the blank page issue when submitting comments. But will have to test this again. I'm curious what caused the forum issue earlier?

OK, both of things things should be fixed. Post back to let me know your results and keep the bug reports coming!

I'm sorry, but I'm still getting the "Could not geocode" message. The only thing I am doing is changing the 100 to a 50 or 20 or whatever and then clicking go. I just tried it again and didn't even change the 100, I just clicked go and it still failed.

As far as the right hand Mountain/rock search problem, it is fine when signed in, but now, when not signed in, no matter what I enter, it jumps right to "Monrovia Peak". It doesn't even put it into a list of 1 first.

Apologies if this has been mentioned upthread.

Starting a few days ago I noticed that some forum posts only appear when I'm logged in.

I'm not talking about categories (rant and rave or whatever it's called these days) or even threads, I'm talking about individual replies to threads.
The threads are missing the last few replies. In the forum's list of threads, it'll show up as having, say, 3 replies instead of 5. If the thread happens to be the most recently-active one in its category, then it'll show on the fourm main page as having 3 replies too. When you open the thread, there are 3 replies. But log in, and there are 5.

I've only noticed this in threads to which I've personally replied, though I don't pay as much attention to other threads.

After a lag of a few hours, the missing replies begin to show up even when I'm not logged in.

This happens on multiple browsers on multiple computers. Clearing my browser's cache and cookies has no effect.

Both of these issues should be resolved now. Please verify.

Yes, they appear to be fixed, thanks very much!

My page "Golden Canyon Peak" is redirecting to offsite pages when I am not logged in. I have noticed this occurrence with several other pages on the site. Is SP hacked? Do i need to incorporate anti-add coding into all of my pages? I know how to do that and am willing teach others. Perhaps i should write an article and teach the SP community some anti-add techniques as a sort of counter terrorist effort.

Montana Matt wrote:I just visited that page when I wasn't logged in and it looks fine and I don't get redirected. Perhaps you have some malware on your computer?

It's very scenario specific. Gimpilator forgot to mention the part where it happens when you click a external page that brings you to SP. The weird part is that it is neither consistent nor does it happen on all pages. I suspected the title quotes had something to do with it, but that may be a faulty lead. It's not malware because it only happens on SP, when logged out, and from an external website to SP. I also noticed that the page he mentioned at the time loaded an extra ad. What I'm getting at is that it's possible that the ad service may have been doing something it was not supposed to be doing. I tried replicating the issue by going from Wikipedia to an SP page and the issue did not exist. :? So if anyone has any clues in this, I'm all ears. Hopefully I find a good lead one of these days.

Hi there, I don't know if its just me but there seems to be something weird going on with the advertising on pages. When you click on a page and scroll down a text advertisement extends out from the left and covers some of the page content.

I use Firefox as a browser by the way.
