Ah, the permit system

by myles » Thu Aug 13, 2015 9:29 pm

Finally managed to get a trip set for a couple of days either side of Labor Day, but too late to get an online permit. I'm hoping I'll get lucky for a walk-up at the ranger station for one of the Big Pine Creek trails, Sabrina or Pine Creek Pass. Hope to run across some SPers while I'm out there.

Summer weekends are tough for permits. South Fork is easier to get than North Fork. I'm heading that way this weekend.

Yep, I'm usually able to plan far enough ahead to line something up in advance. Never done Middle Pal, so the South Fork is top of my list.

Good luck. Mt. Sill for me this weekend then I need to do Middle Pal. I got stormed off of both the week after July 4 this year. Nasty weather that week.
