Road to TH for Hidden Lake Peaks

by MarkDidier » Thu Jun 23, 2016 9:52 pm

Looking for some feedback, as Hidden Lake Peaks is on my to do list for my trip back to the Cascades this August.

Is the road to the trailhead (Sibley Creek?) passable in a standard vehicle? I've read a number of reports - some saying yes standard vehicles can make it and others saying that 4WD or high clearance is needed. I'll be in a rental car, no high clearance, and am not interested in trashing it!

Thanks ahead of time!

Very conservative people will tell you that you need high clearance. Just don't bring a low hider and you should be fine. 8) Unless of course there has been damage to the road.

Thanks Josh! I'll bump this thread in mid-August to see if I can get an update on current conditions.

If I head up the road and find the car can't make it, then my fall back plan would be to just turnaround and head to Cascade Pass...which is a pretty good fall back plan. :D

I made it to the trail head in a Toyota Camry, although that was a few years ago.
