Several people have written to me to apologize. I appreciate it, but no apologies are necessary. We had a great time without you nyah nyah nyah ;-)
Seriously though, the only real disappointment was not getting to meet you all.

Nice trip report Splattski, in my defense all I can say to you though is I told you so about the avalanche conditions blocking the summit bid (check out the Wasatch Avalanche Conditions Thread). Way to play it safe out there, the Wasatch Range could use more climbers like you dudes. You guys will have to come back again for another try.

Four of us made the summit of Lone Peak today despite the winds which were next to nothing on the difficult part of the ridge even though they were nuking almost every place else. The snow on the headwall was perfect for booting up but could have been a little softer on the summit ridge. The big bad rock was jumpable and the belly crawl option required some serious hacking through snow at its terminus.

Nice effort guys. I'm surprised to see a summit on a day like today.

Most excellent, Judy.

Looks like crappy weather for the weekend.

So the weather for this weekend looks to be wet and stormy. I'm going to plan for a climb of Lone Peak on May 15.

Still planning for the Triple Traverse on the 8th, hope a bunch of you can join us.

Great day on Nebo on Monday. Perfect sunny day with no wind. Ah, it just doesn't get any better. I'm going to put up a route page for these North Couloirs, they are phenomenal!

Zeejay- Congrats on hitting the summit yesterday. I would have guessed the winds up there would have been extreme. See what I know. Ha.

Marauders- Those pics are incredible. I really need to hit those N. couloirs. That one of the guy descending into the chute is absolutely sick.

Matt, looks like you and Dustin had a great day on Nebo. Wish I could have been there! Thanks for sharing the pics.

Triple Traverse:

Next Saturday May 8.

I don't recall what time we began hiking Tanner's last year, but I recommend no later than 6AM. 5AM may be a good idea. What say you mountaineering wizards? If weather is an issue next week--for example if it looks like it did today--then I suggest we assume to go the week after, May 15.

As always, you'll need to arrange a shuttle from Broad's Fork trailhead to get back to LCC.

Apparently we all met at 4:45 last year.

A quarter to 4AM? Yikes! How about we meet at Tanner's in LCC at 5AM. That means shuttlers will meet at Mill B South parking with enough time to drive back to LCC.

5AM for Triple Traverse

Can't make the TT this year, sadly -- I was looking forward to skiing it. Will be floating down Cataract Canyon instead.
