Skurka Nears End of 4700+ Mile Alaska-Yukon Expedition...
Posted: Fri Sep 03, 2010 4:43 pmI know some of you must be following, as I have, what has to be the biggest news in outdoor adventure this year. Super-hiker Andrew Skurka is nearing the completion of a truly epic 4700 mile trek through Alaska and the Yukon. He started in March in Kotzebue and has skied/packrafted/hiked across the Alaska Range, the Wrangell-St.Elias, the Lost Coast, the Yukon River, and now the Brooks Range on his way back to Kotzebue. With the end drawing near, I thought I should get the word out.
It's almost incomprehensible to me the size of what he is about to accomplish. I sit in awe of you Mr. Skurka...and best of luck in the final couple days!

The total elevation gain is unknown, but I can imagine that it was also impressive.
