Once I read that Messner trained by running 10 miles every day, so that's what I did, too.
20 miles on weekends.
He was my hero.

Reinhold came to LA in 1994 and I got to meet him, I have the photo on my wall. He, in my opinion, is the greatest mountaineer of all time, he cared for the people. He did it in a simpler, better time, and with style and humility. He still looks great.
