Bad news from nanga parbat. In the morning Asghar Ali Porik reported that Elisabeth Revol and tomasz mackiewicz were stranded at about 7400 M. Tom is most likely a disease disease and snow blindness. There is a rescue operation coordinated by the embassies of France and Poland. The four climbers of our expedition (equipped with rescue equipment and oxygen) are awaiting information on the possibility of flying by helicopter to move from the base under k2 to a rescue operation under nanga parbat.
PS. Janusz from Denis left this morning to c2.

From Russianclimb.com -- Tomek & Elizabeth summited, then got stuck at 7400. After the night spent there they tried to descend. A rescue operation organized. The members of K2 team are ready to fly to Nanga. Denis Urubko, who ascended in the morning to C1, descended already and waiting the flight.

Denis Urubko : "We will try to go by Kinshoffer route as soon as possible. Adam and me are in head-team, going light style. Will be necessary to climb, sure, because old ropes shall be into the ice. Our group can be 4-6 members finally. We'll try to do our best."

The last info: Tomek is at 7280 in the tent, Eli at 6671 m, and she'll spend second night without tent, . And she knows about tomorrow rescue operation.

For those not following 8000-meter climbs closely, there is a superhuman effort by a team of climbers who have flown from K2 to conduct a rescue mission on Nanga Parbat - all in Pakistan. Two climbers got in trouble. One has now been reached and the other's fate is in the brink.

There are only a handful of climbers who could be doing what is happing before our eyes. They climbed at a rate of 400 feet or 121 meters per hour at 20,000 feet/6000 meters up a very steep, icy and technical Kingshofer wall. This is simply incredible.
