Maybe next time he will make it.

Per the news stories -- the published videos, including the fall on Changing Corners, were from his close-but-not-quite attempt 11/10-11/12. He returned the following weekend and was successful, climbing the route from 11/17 - 11/19.

Yes, he fell on Changing Corners on a "heartbreaking but awesome effort" on 11/18, at the end of his second day on the route. It was his first fall on the route this attempt. He stayed on the wall and red-pointed the pitch -- and the rest of the route -- the next morning, 11/19.
Successful red-points of big walls do not require that there are no falls, only that each pitch is red-pointed, in order. Per the quote, he "sent" the next morning. Check!
