Sounds like he fell on the crux near the top... that's sortof like climbing Everest but turning around at the Hillary Step.

Maybe next time he will make it.

Don't follow your point.

Yes, he fell on Changing Corners on a "heartbreaking but awesome effort" on 11/18, at the end of his second day on the route. It was his first fall on the route this attempt. He stayed on the wall and red-pointed the pitch -- and the rest of the route -- the next morning, 11/19.

Successful red-points of big walls do not require that there are no falls, only that each pitch is red-pointed, in order. Per the quote, he "sent" the next morning. Check!
