just returned from Aosta, snowboarding in Gressoney. 8)

We had ice climbed there 2 years ago and decided to return this year to snowboard.

Passed by the many roadside waterfalls that we had climbed a couple of years ago and found that they had not frozen this year.

Big melt continues

Conditions now

Hallo ice climbers !
I have just returned from the valley of Cogne (near Aosta - Italy). We stayed there with some friends of mine for a week and enjoyed the waterfalls ice climbing in the valleys of Lillaz and Valnontey. The most waterfalls are in good condition (not in perfect conditions). Some of them were melting and other were not in their whole length climbable. But in generally there is now a big variety of waterfalls to climb in severall difficulties (W2 - W5 and M2 - M5 !!).
It was a very good lesson for us unexperienced greek climbers  by a very nice weather (7 days blue sky) and moderate temperatures (-7 to -1 gr. C.)
Just go boys ! :D
