Looks like something for engineers :) but pages 10-13 should be interesting to anybody here – make sure you have a look at page 10 at least (Andreea may like page 11 as well :))

Glad you like it Andreea, and I hope the engineers can also be curious. :)
As to the Iezer, I've also found a report on some field research that the animal lovers may like although the animals are a bit slimy. :D

Well, I thought of the "field Earth scientist" part, actually. We're sensitive for different words

Come on, it's not that hard. You just take a map and look at the countries surrounding Hungary and re-read the latest Podhale link Jacek provided. Your job will be easier if you take a Hungarian-language map. I can't give you more hints, otherwise Jacek will retaliate by opening up another CE thread, I'm afraid.

Well, I did my degree with a paper map, and have remained a 8) relic of the Ice Age ever since. :)

Better watch out, Peter, or I'll detach from the Carpathians what's south/west of the Danube, and I do not mean the Serbian part.

simpson wrote:Jacek, do you consider W Sudetes as East Central Europe?
On the floristic map it seems sort of central central european.

What you say, Borut, makes me think of moving the west border onto the Dresden-Trieste line.

Paper maps are great.

I bet it hasn't turned this green yet.
simpson wrote:Trst is definitely south of the Danube.

Well, I happen to know an environmental engineer who – without much difficulty :) - can have the Danube flow south from somewhere near Linz across those hills  west of the Carpathians, directly to the Adriatic. What's more, I can think of at least one reason why he could be interested. :D

Diverting the Danube isn't my business, please re-read the passage about this on the not-yet-but-will-be-that-green hill's page  (although I tried to remain neutral in the text, you can guess my point of view)

I have.
But if the Danube got diverted at Linz, Predikaloszek would be safe. Great engineering projects can change everything on the planet.
