Q: guide books for peaks in the Alps

What guide books would you recommend?

They need to be in English.

You might try, "The Alpine 4000m Peaks by the Classic Routes" by Richard Goedeke. This was published in 1991. I have a copy at home.

Obviously not helpful for peaks under 4000m though.

I wasn't going to answer since I haven't been to the Alps yet, but I have the book Woodie mentions as well as the one below:

Both books get good reviews, but as mentioned, I haven't had the opportunity to use the beta yet.

Which part of the Alps do you mean? Or is it a general question?

The only peak that I heard are Matterhorn and Mt Blanc. I'm interested in other peaks in the same area.
