Hi Folks,

We will be hiking the Haute Route (Integral) in July 2015. We need some beta regarding crampons. Should we take our regular front point crampons or will our Hillsound crampons be good enough?

Thanks,

Tom

I hiked the first half of the Haute Route starting in Chamonix in July of 2013 and completed it on September of 2014. Unless the Alps has gotten a ton of snow this year...you will not need crampons. There may be some snow on trails at higher elevations...but with so many people on the trail...there will be foot prints to walk in. I would suggest baskets on your hiking poles...helps with balance in what littel snow you may encounter.

Thank you for your feedback. Did you hike the Integral route? That is the highest route and passes over glaciers. We are trying to determine if we will need regular crampons verses micro crampons. Let me know which route you hiked.

Thanks
