Don't worry about the snow. That time of year there may be snow on the ground, but its not deep and you are essentially just walking on the ground. No snow travel gear required.

You'd have to call them and find out that info. Some roads dont actually close...just become impasable...which means.....it is variable as to when you can drive them. However, I know a few roads close on the same date every year....regardless of what the weather is doing. So, you need to call them and ask about the specific road you are planning on travelling. Things down here aren't as rigid and structured as on the front range though.
