Yes, it's him.

He was always too busy to bother with forums, but would check in from time to time to post info about the AAC, expeditions, that sort of thing.

I can't tell you the loss this community will feel.

Very sad: I am absolutely shocked. Although I liver in Denver, I never had a chance to personally meet Chris. We occasionally talked about climbs, and I hoped to climb with him sometime. I can honestly say my life is richer for following in his footsteps on some of the climbs I've done in the past. He was very helpful and amiable regarding sharing information with others on SP, and his contributions here were first-rate and very much appreciated.

I would like to express my sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

This makes me sick to my stomach. Serious condolencese to the family and beloved friends of Chris. The few interactions I had with him led me to believe he was a lover of life in the truest sense of the term. He let his sense of adventure guide him to places other dream of visiting. RIP.

This truly is sad. Chris was one of the really good guys. I had the good fortune to get out on several climbs with Chris. He will be sorely missed.

Sick to my stomach...just made plans to meet him in ouray in January, for the third year in a row...
He was a great guy. My sympathies for his family and partner. My thoughts and prayers go out to him in particular.
Does anyone know what happened?

What a tragic loss so close to home
life is best lived doing what you love, we can only hope this was the case for Chris in his last trip to the mountains

The U.S. National Park Service says the 42-year-old man was climbing the "All Mixed Up" ice climbing route on Saturday. Visitors reported the man's death around 2:30 p.m. via cell phone.

Guys, I just want to point out something here, Haliku lists his age at 30 and the above description says a 42 year old man??? Are you sure its him?

Rest in peace, buddy.

Terribly sad news, never met him but talked to him numerous times here and on 14ers.com about trips to mexico. Very kind and knowledgeable person, will be missed by the climbing community. Best wishes to his family and friends.

I met him once climbing ice alongside our CMC group at Jewel Lake and ended up striking up a conversation since he'd climbed Orizaba with some friends of mine. He came across as a really awesome guy... very knowledgeable, humble, worldly wise... he freely shared his (considerable) knowledge with our group and was having a blast out there on the ice. We'd planned to climb Wetterhorn together one of these Winters. If I do end up summitting Wetterhorn this Winter I will dedicate the summit to him. RIP Chris. My most sincere condolences to your loved ones.
