Mt. Gilbert, North Couloir

The last several years this couloir has not been in shape at this time of year (ie. melted out gap). I don't think I've read about anyone climbing it in autumn ice / neve conditions since 2006. Curious to know how it is currently faring .. should be visible from the dam at South Lake with binocs.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised this year; that is, if it looks anything like everything else as far as 'phatness' goes. It is likely still skiable! LOL.

Rob, when I was up there 3 weeks ago it was not melted out thru the thin mid section. But certainly did not look like ice.
