Mt Dana - anyone been there recently ?

I am thinking of hiking Mt Dana this Sunday. But from the weather forecasts
http://www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks/ ... casts/3979, it seems like
-15F temperature with 20-30 mph winds are waiting @ 13000 ft, on Sunday afternoon .

I did see @smurfer's comments on another thread, where he said he hiked Mt Dana on Jan 8. Anyone else been there lately or planning to hike this weekend ?
How bad does that temperature and wind look ?

Yeah. That looks cold. Temps always drop after storms blow by.

It has been way too warm lately, but the temps can drop to more seasonable levels in a heartbeat. Often the Sierra crest will get nasty winds while the lower elevations are nice and warm. I've been working at 7200 feet near Sonora Junction and it is has been really nice mid mornings then cold and breezy by noon.

Our local weather guy says this will be the last weekend to drive up to Tuolumne as he expects a real storm late next week.

Thanks Greg. I guess I'll hike till the saddle and see how it feels. If it is too cold and windy, I'll skip the summit.

I've found the NWS to be reasonably accurate at forecasting the mountains but use your head: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=37.899645999458144&lon=-119.22097206115723&site=hnx&unit=0&lg=en&FcstType=text
