FWIW, not sure how many of you out there do resort skiing, but this might be useful for day/trip planning/add-ons/training, Tahoe locals, etc.

I thought uphill passes were called lift tickets.

My thought was "Why does one need an 'uphill pass' to go back country skiing?" I have skinned uphill through lift serviced ski areas in the past and never thought that I needed someone's permission or blessing, albeit I have done so before the resort opened for the day.

Ski shuttle trips from Norden to Squaw Valley or Highway 89 regularly go by Lincoln Peak and Sugar Bowls boundaries. Descents from Anderson Peak,Tinkers Knob, and other backcountry sites can be extended by a ride up Lincoln lift. Heavenly Valley , Kirkwood ,Homewood and other resort lifts could also be used to reach distant peaks.

Ah, gotcha. My understanding was that most allowed skinning uphill when the lifts aren't running, and they tend to look the other way if you started uphill before 1st chair.

And I thought this was going to be about a two loss non-conference champion Oklahoma football team making a BCS bowl...
