The estimated average cost for a search and rescue is less than $10,000. San Bernardino County residents needing assistance aren’t charged. Other counties are charged if their residents must be rescued, said Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Jodi Miller.

“The trail you hiked yesterday is not the trail you’ll see today. Nor is it the trail you’ll see tomorrow,” he said.

After this year’s deaths and at least three on Mt. Baldy last winter, some now wonder if the Devil’s Backbone Trail and other upper-elevation routes should be closed by Angeles National Forest officials, at least temporarily.

But people still get injured and die on Mt Baldy and the story continuous unchanged :o

Mt. Baldy deaths lead to questions about trail safety

It's really quite simple, climbr. A climber falls and is killed instantly. Then the corpse continues to plummet, sustaining further mutilation on its descent. After the snow melts on Baldy the area is littered with body parts, each spring. It's quite ghastly.

.

OK! Now it’s absolutely clear. Thank you for very plain explanation.
