Somehow this got a two page spread in the SF Chronicle Travel section Sunday before last. Mr. Skurka must have a good press agent. His route seems a bit contrived to me. And shouldn't a hiking route go from trail head to trail head? His starts and ends well into the wilderness, so if you hike it, it's actually much longer than 94 miles. I've been over the entire route, in pieces over the years, so I will concede that it is worthwhile terrain. However, there is no limit to the number of hiking trips you could invent by cobbling together segments into an arbitrary "route".
