Posted: Mon Jul 06, 2009 6:56 amvery NOT BAD in the Emigrant Wilderness... Kennedy Lake/Creek area. A couple more as I got up higher (~9500') in the drainage, but really a non-issue. What a pleasant surprise!

Posted: Mon Jul 06, 2009 5:41 pmOn July 4 in Yosemite on the the Panorama and 4 mile trails, I didn't see, hear or scratch any all day, but when I returned to the valley at sundown they were out in force.

Suckers didn't travel alone, only in squadrons of 50 or so
first weekend of July, @ 6000-7000 ft along Hwy4 and Stanislaus river, they were persistent, but less prevalent. seemed to travel more like in 3s. recon patrols perhaps. dry/sunny areas mostly mosquito free.

That's because they'd all moved to socialize around Jack Main Canyon/Lake Dorothy instead.
Posted: Thu Jul 09, 2009 4:51 pmLast weekend they were bad near pine lakes and honeymoon lake, but absolutely zero up at the royce lakes. (probably because the top three royce lakes were still mostly frozen over).
