I wish. Actually I can see Mt. Diablo and with the snow and cold temps it looks a Cascade volcano. Anyone ever try skiing on one of the rare snowfalls on Diablo or Hamilton?

Went up Mission Peak yesterday afternoon:

Had my skis in the car but there wasn't enough snow there, and I didn't have time for the hike in to Diablo or Hamilton (they close the roads low). Am thinking of going to Diablo today ...

I can see Rainier from my office window! (well, technically its a reflection of Rainier off another building's windows, because my window faces the wrong way). Its even sunny today, what a miracle! Maybe I'll go up to the 72nd floor and have a look around during lunch.

There is still snow in my backyard in Santa Cruz Mountains. It refuses to melt :)

I could see Pikes Peak from my house if I wasn't too close. I can see Cheyenne Mountain from the Master throne in my bathroom. Norad's inside it.

I don't have a window in my "office". But, if there were one- I would see an over-sized parking lot in suburban New Jersey.

Still take things for granted? :-)

Schweet! I was looking over there every hour, wishing I could get out and play in the snow!

That's pretty cool. Was it worth hauling your skis up there? :-)

Hey Peter -- It would have been more worth it yesterday. Except for near the top, today the snow was largely patchy and/or trampled by footprints and vehicles, whereas yesterday I'm sure the road was skiable for many miles. But it was still a nice hike. My excuse was that I had to drive someone to the airport, and then "swung by" in their car (with their encouragement) on my way back. I just had to take advantage of the confluence of snow in the hills plus use of a vehicle.
