Shepherd Crest ?

I was thinking about goals for next year. Secor has a blurb about the NW Face of Shepherd Crest (II, 5.7) -- five pitches from 4th to 5.7 on "perfect rock". Just wondering if anyone has done this one and has any pics or other info. Sounds like a nice daytrip from Saddlebag Lake. FA'd by Robbins and the Porcellas, 1975.

that one has intrigued me as well. I like obscure routes.

I know that it can be hard to locate the start of the route

that must be what you're looking at when you top virginia pass at the green lake trailhead; always wondered about that side of shepherd crest, too! let us know how it goes :)

here's one of Mr BBurd's shots from the pass looking at the side in question (long-distance shot)

It's hard to tell. With that perfectly blending hat you're almost invisible.

There are 2 other technical routes on Shepherds Crest as well. Both partys were searching for the elusive robbins route and did not find it, thus climbed two new routes ;^)

Nice shot, though the foreground is a little busy  While researching I dug up an old thread on the taco about lesser known classic routes.

None of the other folks I've asked seem to know anything about this one. Sounds like something to go look for next summer :)
