Hi,

we are thinking about going to Langley in two weeks or so to do Winter Pass or Army Pass. Does anybody have any information on the road conditions? I heard it's usually bad... Any other beta on the route is also appreciated.

I heard that the ascent from Tuttle Creek can be a little more brutal, very powdery and avy prone.

Langley via Tuttle Creek and Northeast Couloir is probably the "easiest" Sierra 14'er in the winter. the first 3K' are powdery but you put on a pair of snowshoes/skies, bring a couple of buddies and plow through it. 10k' on is good snow climbing. it has not snowed in a while. unless it dumps in the next couple of weeks, avy danger is low.
