Other than a good topo map, I don't there is a single route on Shasta for which you can't get better route information on SummitPost versus what is contained in any guidebook.

The guidebooks are very general and have minimal actual route information.

If anyone ever needs a place to crash, let me know. We have a guesthouse and like to be hospitable. Shoot me an email though, since I am not on Summitpost too much anymore.

After making a wrong turn at Bunny (tried a shortcut to AG) I found myself high above AG, must be GB ! I continued above crossing gendarmes where I could and getting cliffed out often. I was solo, so it was an adventure. Got above the thumb before high winds turned me around. A lot of traversing with significant exposure right now. I was high-knifing a few times while front pointing. Some of the gendarmes are inviting on the down-hill side only to cliff you out or cause you to make a few mixed moves. A fun day, but glad its over.

I was trying to load a few pics on here but alas, SP has to be the most difficult site I use when it comes to pictures. Any hints ? Link ?

Let's see here...

If your images are loaded onto your computer and hosted on a site such as Flickr,
find the editing tool to 'view all sizes'.
I used 640x680.

1. right click the picture to 'copy image location'
B. click the Img button on this site
III. paste the image url between the brackets

You can also type the brackets manually, as well.
Pressing 'control' and 'v' at the same time will also paste the url.

Scotty there is two options, you can load pics onto the content portion of the site, like on your profile, and post a link to them here. Or you can size them down as jibmaster suggested and submit them with your post. I'd be interested to see them.

Good job getting up most of Green Butte with no beta!

Thanks guys! Chad, I will go back and do that route as I enjoyed it. I just did not like the wandering in the woods I did for an hour prior!
