Looking southward to Mount Dana from Tioga Peak (eastern YNP to the right):
NPS was reporting substanial snowpack above 8,000 feet and especially above 8,500 feet
as of May 16:
https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/wildcond.htmYou can search Instagram or do a Google search of Instagram photos for various locations and peaks. Some taken last week show TM looked mostly snow free at the meadow level. New snow earlier this week east of Tioga Pass looked light in photos and will melt fast with the coming warm temperatures, but with storms this week, the best specific short term information would come from photos and reports today, tomorrow, and over the weekend.
Good luck to all avoiding thunderstorms!
