Smoke around Mt Shasta

Anyone could assess the smoke situation for Mt Shasta please?

A couple days ago the forecast was good and now it changed again:

Also the webcam does not look optimistic:

I’m particularly interested in the East, North and perhaps West sides of Mt Shasta and above 7,000 feet. My lungs are sensitive to air pollution and would not rather spend hours/days in the altitude if the smoke is smellable.

I was about to come to Shasta today evening and stay for up to a week.

Thank you for any info. :)

As you know it can go from crap to crystal clear in just one day... so it is a crap shoot clmbr!

Also several times I have seen it look pretty dreary on the webcam and even when I drive up... but once I get above 9000-10000 feet it is clear again... the smoke just settles down below. The views are often just as good as normal when it is doing this. Last time I went up the webcam did not look any better at all. But two days later could see Lassen over the haze. So who knows? I wouldn't cancel a fun trip.

These pics and those in the current conditions thread all taken the same day.

I talked to The Fifth Season and they said the smoke was present (even on higher elevation) and smellable. I decided not to take a risk with my lungs. Thank you though.
