Hey all. Does anyone where the Sno-Park currently goes up to?
Thanks

The road is open to the pack station, about a mile short of Mosquito Lake. I went up there today to climb Mt Dade. Perfect conditions on the Hourglass - a firm base with a few inches of softer snow on top.

I assume Mosquito lake is Mosquito Flats?
I am headed up there this weekend and am curious if renting skis will be worthwhile or just carrying snowshoes. I am only interested in heading up the valley seeing some of the lakes.
For the record I am a terrible skier, I live in AZ and usually wait for the snow to leave the Sierra before I visit...

Yes, Mosquito Flats.
There's been recent snow - the Inyo ranger station will have current info, 760-873-2400
Skis are faster but if you're not skilled snowshoes will serve you better as the terrain steepens.
It's tempting to ski across the lakes rather than follow the trail, but careful. I fell through a patch of slush disguised with a fresh layer of snow, into thigh-deep water.

Thank you! I have been trying to call the ranger station and haven't got anyone yet. They must be pretty busy. How far down did this recent storm come? are the hot tubs N of Crowley accessible by a AWD CR-V?
I think the current plan is to camp down by the tubs and drive up into the sierra and do what we can do.
Thanks for the advice on the snow on lakes, I did the same some years ago, still remember how cold the water was... Brrrr

Bump. Any word on current conditions? Have a permit for 4th July weekend. Wanted to take my kids but not sure how much snow I’ll have to contend with.
