I was in hunt ravine with Leaf on sunday - we did central - it was dicey, thin, hollow, not really in and about as thin as it could be, This being said, it was generally ok - some nice neve, thin ice - but enough to take tools and pons for the most part.. no protection possible really, unless you fucked around looking for rock pro. we didn't bother and just cruised the route. Good few places where the tools were hitting rock under about 1/2 inch of ice... but you can generally find solid ice to sink em.
fun day - full conditions... nice way to start the season...
the approach is what it is... it sucks with no snow cover down low to voer the boulders, but worth it to climb. that being said - its gonna be high avy for today and likely tommorow... but the snow will help the climbs and make approach better... never know could be better by weekend...
I can't say it was the safest I have seen central..
There was also more ice (tho thin as hell) in there than I have ever seen (been in central about 5 times over the last few years)
odells was climbed as well by a couple parties.. spoke with one of the guys coming down - the bottom took screws - thats all i got.
